Description

This seminar, presented by Attorney Ronald E. Alexander, who has served as an Impartial Hearing Office for the Ohio Department of Education for four decades, will focus on the hearing process to adjudicate the rights of children with a disability to receive a free appropriate public education (“FAPE”) and the rights of parents and schools in those hearings. Attorney Alexander is one of only eleven attorneys who have attained Specialty Certification in Administrative Agency Law by the Ohio State Bar Association. The program will address federal and Ohio statutes and administrative agency rules that govern these hearings, and provide and excellent overview of hearings regarding the education of a child with a disability.  The seminar originally took place at the Akron Bar Association on 9/27/17.
